The Judiciary to Prosecute All Illegalities Related to Linglong

It is encouraging news that the police and the prosecution reacted due to the violation of the Animal Welfare Act on the construction site of the Linglong car tire factory.

Mladen Vujin, the public prosecutor in Zrenjanin, stated that two people are treated as suspects and that the police had been ordered to collect information and submit a criminal report to the prosecutor’s office for the crime of killing and abusing animals.

Gradjanski preokret reminds prosecutor Vujin that for six months he has been ignoring criminal charges against the responsible person of the investor Linglong International Europe d.o.o. Zrenjanin and the responsible person of the construction contractor China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction, for the criminal offense of building without a building permit and calls on him to act on these reports.

Gradjanski preokret also reminds that during the previous year it filed three lawsuits with the Administrative Court against the decisions of city and provincial authorities, regarding the construction of the Linglong car tire factory, for violating the Law on Planning and Construction and the Law on Environmental Impact Assessment, and that court did not act on them yet.

The judiciary should always protect the law, and not just when some illegality ends up on social media, in the form of a viral video that attracted public attention.
