{"id":2633,"date":"2021-10-21T20:05:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-21T18:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/?p=2633"},"modified":"2021-11-21T20:33:38","modified_gmt":"2021-11-21T19:33:38","slug":"against-capital-machinations-stop-linglong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/en\/2021\/10\/21\/against-capital-machinations-stop-linglong\/","title":{"rendered":"Against Capital Machinations: STOP LINGLONG!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>WHAT DO WE WANT?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That all citizens of Serbia know that the largest tire factory in Europe is being built in Zrenjanin, against the laws of Serbia, against the interests of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Shandong Linglong factory is being built on arable land, without adequate permits, without clear information on how and in what way it will affect the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-secondary-color\">We are asking to stop construction of the Linglong factory !<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Citizens need to know what harmful consequences the production of tires will have on our health, on the air, water, the land around us. When we know that, let us talk about investments as well. First our health, then investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT DO WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE LINGLONG FACTORY?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/en\/2020\/10\/09\/serbia-is-donating-83-5-million-of-euros-to-linglong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Government of Serbia HAS GIVEN 97 hectares of arable land to this investor and granted a subsidy of more than 75 million euros.<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Zrenjanin will produce 14 MILLION tires a year &#8211; the whole world will ride on our backs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 That&#8217;s 40,000 tires a day &#8211; 25 every minute!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 It is estimated that up to 400 trucks will pass through the city and its surroundings DAILY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/2021\/02\/09\/izvorista-vode-u-zrenjaninu-se-smanjuju-linglong-ne-bi-smeo-da-busi-bunare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Additional drain of water from public water supply and groundwater is expected.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 The rubber industry leaves behind carbon black, waste, toxic coal, tons of plastic bags and sacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>720 tons of carbon black, 470 tons of wood and paper, 37 tons of light plastic bags, 108,000 tons of waste in plastic jumbo bags, 192 tons of toxic coal &#8211; ANNUALLY!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/2020\/06\/16\/upuceno-misljenje-o-linglongu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">We asked for answers from the city and provincial authorities <\/a> \u2013 NOTHING.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have filed a  <a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/2021\/05\/31\/krivicne-prijave-protiv-odgovornih-za-nelegalnu-gradnju-fabrike-guma-linglong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criminal complaint against the responsible persons<\/a> in the &#8220;Shandong Linglong&#8221; factory &#8211; NOTHING.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have filed  <a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/2021\/07\/26\/tuzba-protiv-pokrajinskog-sekretarijata-za-urbanizam-zbog-linglonga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">three lawsuits with the Administrative Cour<\/a> against the city and provincial authorities for violating the law &#8211; NOTHING.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT CAN BE DONE FOR AN INVESTOR AND CANNOT BE DONE FOR CITIZENS?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/en\/2021\/05\/12\/the-city-of-zrenjanin-paid-for-demining-of-land-owned-by-linglong-and-the-state-will-pay-for-the-water-supply-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Almost 4 million euros were transferred by the Government of Serbia to the budget of the City of Zrenjanin for the construction of the water supply and sewerage infrastructure, but FOR Linglong, and not for us, the citizens of Zrenjanin. For those of us who have not had drinking water from the tap for 17 years.<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The highway Belgrade &#8211; Zrenjanin &#8211; Novi Sad will be built according to the needs of the investor and when the investor needs it, and not the citizens. The work will be performed by companies and workers from China, we will pay for it with loans obtained from China.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/gradjanskipreokret.rs\/index.php\/en\/2021\/09\/30\/the-province-of-vojvodina-enabled-the-illegal-chinese-camp-in-zrenjanin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Illegal construction of a &#8220;work camp&#8221; on other people&#8217;s plots, and a five-story building in the village of E\u010dka to accommodate Chinese workers.<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/balkaninsight.com\/2021\/11\/17\/mistreatment-of-vietnamese-workers-in-serbia-criminal-lawyer-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Labour camps where human rights and human dignity are violated.<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT DO WE WANT?
